Where It Began…
What started as a love of music has grown into a creative consultancy with storytelling at its heart.
INTHEWRITERSMIND was created in 2015 by Daniella Ekundayo, out of a pure love of music, which led her to always discover musicians, producers, creatives, composers and dancers at their emerging, earliest and infant stages. With such a gift for talent discovery, Daniella combined this with her journalism skills and started reaching out to the talent she discovered, many of whom she believed deserved more of a spotlight and many of whom had never done an interview about their work before. Reaching out to creators and artists across the world, she secured several written interviews for the brand, which gained traction online. Each interview showed Daniella’s mind, her dedication to thoughtful and well-researched interview questions that allow artists to go in-depth in ways they hadn’t done so before and introduce them to their current audience and new ones.
When Daniella studied journalism academically, she also taught herself how to film, bringing video interviews to the platform and creative original series ideas like, ‘The Stars Behind The Stars’, ‘Day in the Life’, ‘The Producer Catalogue’, and ‘Moving in the Moment’ while leading small production teams to bring these to life.
As Daniella’s portfolio of work has grown exponentially, handling visual storytelling, artist development and digital marketing for artists, brands, arts institutions and creative agencies. This has naturally led to INTHEWRITERSMIND now evolving into a consultancy helping brands and artists to translate their “why” into tailored marketing, artist advice, experimental music and dance videos and unique video interview content.
