Who is the writer?
Alright, take 2
My name is Daniella.
I’m a third year university student. I created this blog a couple of years back not knowing exactly what I wanted to do with it. All I knew was that I wanted to be a journalist and it was time for me to generate some sort of internet presence. It was time for me to show the world what I have to offer – what is on my mind. I had lot of ideas at the time but I really didn’t know how to execute them. So, I took time away from this to figure things out.
Early 2017 I got my groove back! I was finally in tune with what I want to write about and ready to dedicate my time into doing so. Why did I want to become a journalist? When did it hit me? Well, I guess I’ve always known that this is what I was born to do. I was always really good at writing. I used to read A LOT of fiction and non-fiction, which definitely helped. When I was younger, I used to really admire black female reporters like Isha Sesay and still do. I wanted that to be me one day. When secondary school came, I really started to make my dream my reality. I started up my school paper and wrote a number of articles for a local newspaper during my time in sixth form. I hope to bring something different with INTHEWRITERSMIND. I listen to A LOT of underappreciated music. I hope to bring that to the forefront in some way, because there is a lot of talent out there that needs to be heard.
Okay, so I guess it’s now that time to wrap this up a bit haha. Well, let’s just say I’m pretty stoked to introduce some of these artists to you. You can find some of them on INTHERWRITERSMIND’s SoundCloud and Spotify account. Disclaimer: as much as I love music, this website isn’t just about music. I’m a final year history student, so expect some interesting historical findings and general thoughts coming your way! It’s important that as young people that we stay aware and find our own political standing. Finally, you’re probably wondering “what on earth is a stream of consciousness?”. Well, to put it simply it’s all the weird things I think about and interesting topics I discuss with my friends. Stay tuned as I hope to bring more cool stuff to light!
