Back with a long overdue episode of That New Sh*t and it’s only right that I go back to my roots – that being my admiration for Manchester-based hip hop collective Roots Raddix! Founded in 2014, the collective “established as a group, but also as solo acts and each artist has a distinctive narrative to their music that compliments the other”. Roots Raddix comprises of acts LayFullStop, Woddy Green and Zz, The Slept On who continue to succeed in bringing this new age Jazz Hop and Neo Soul sound every time they come together. They have just dropped their new music video Raise Up! Recorded as part of their “five day residence at Red Bull studios London”, Raise Up blends archaic settings with more modern symbolism to create something that highlights the trio’s individual personalities. It is clear that the collective have so much to offer and I remain intrigued as I continue to follow their musical journey…
