…and they are here to start a revolution
Recently, I was talking to my friend about how I miss the Black Eyed Peas. How I feel that there is a void in the music industry at the moment, because a group like that is missing. How I believe that an emergence of the Black Eyed Peas would help revitalise the music industry. Whilst everyone has a different sense of attachment to the Black Eyed Peas, I always admired their quirkiness, individuality, free-spirit, forward thinking and diversity. These qualities undoubtedly help to define them as one of the most successful groups in musical history. I then shared how I think the Black Eyed Peas were marketed extremely well during the time they dominated. How their diverse range of cultures resonated with us all and was a great selling point. A great example of this cultural diversity and my favourite song of theirs is Bebot.
The group which consisted of members Will.I.Am, Apl.De.Ap, Taboo and Fergie created songs that were always in tune with the current state of culture. That is what caused them to continue to stay relevant and dominate the industry during the late and early 2000s.
To my surprise, I stumbled across a new song they dropped this month on YouTube – Street Livin’. I couldn’t help but think that one of the coolest groups of all-time is back and they’re back with a message. Street Livin’ marks yet another song that truly speaks to the current mindset. The desire for unity and togetherness is strong, amidst a world full of violence and disagreement. The very tough issues are discussed in a POWERFUL archaic video that speaks volumes.
