SAVE THE DATE: A VIBE CALLED TECH (12/09/2019)

TECHNOLOGY AND THE BLACK CREATIVE VOICE

It’s been a while since I’ve posted upcoming events, despite seeing and hearing about new activities everyday. This has been for a number of reasons. With the first episode of the docu-series coming out soon, I wanted to focus all my energy into one place – that is filming and video editing. Secondly, I’ve spent time going to different events, workshops and panel discussions trying to gauge what’s of interest, what’s popular and unique in London. I’ll be sharing my experiences in future episodes of the All Around London series. For now, BE IN THE KNOW will be running again as normal. Add these events to your calendars!

What’s new in the world of tech and Afrofuturism?

Get ready for an evening addressing a range of questions:

1. What role does Afrofuturism play in reshaping the representation of black people in art?

2. Can technology be used as a tool for black empowerment?

3. What have new inventions contributed to the practice of storytelling for people of African Heritage?

4. How will technology facilitate the creative processes of black artists and influence the narratives developed by black creators?
